Mission, Vision and Motto

Vision Statement

Holy Spirit School, through its Christian values and Catholic tradition, provides a happy, caring, safe and supportive community in which children will grow to recognize and achieve their full potential.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to develop students as lifelong learners through a balanced curriculum enriched by Gospel values whilst empowering them to make a positive contribution to the community.

Statement of Special Religious Character

Our school was founded by the Spiritan Fathers and the early Parishioners of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Spiritans have gifted us with their spirituality which endeavours to:

  • Proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God by truth, love, justice and peace;
  • Teach the good news, leading to spiritual and social empowerment;
  • Serve the disadvantaged, poor, socially deprived and neglected;
  • Advocate religious and racial tolerance, human dignity, liberty and solidarity with all peoples.

We at Holy Spirit School endeavour to follow the Spiritan way of life by embracing the fruits of the Holy Spirit:

Joy – Peace – Patience – Kindness – Goodness – Faithfulness -

Self-control – Love – Gentleness

All phases of schooling at Holy Spirit School are underpinned by Brisbane Catholic Education's Learning and Teaching Framework and The Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Declaration (2019). The Alice Springs (Mparntwe - pronounced as 'M- ban-tua') Education Declaration sets the national vision for education for all Australians and notes two goals:

  1. The Australian education system promotes excellence and equity.
  2. All young Australians become:
    • Confident and creative individuals
    • Successful lifelong learners
    • Active and informed members of the community
